In Nigeria, our community includes four outstanding FoRB Fellows and a broader network of hundreds of young people engaged on freedom of religion or belief issues across the country.

Current Opportunity: Share Your FoRB Story
Nazila Ghanea, the UN Special Rapporteur on freedom of religion or belief, will meet with the FoRB’s Future community during her official visit to Nigeria.
Our meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 9 at 15:00 in Abuja.
Official visits of this kind are rare, and this appears to be the first visit to Nigeria by the UN Special Rapporteur on FoRB in more than twenty years. We want to make the most of this opportunity by helping surface real experiences, real challenges, and real hope from across Nigeria.
We are inviting Nigerians to participate in several ways.
1. Share Your Story
We are launching a #MyFoRBStory campaign to help identify voices and perspectives to be included in this moment.
Please record a short video sharing your personal experience with freedom of religion or belief in Nigeria. Your story may be positive, negative, or both.
Post your video to Instagram, Facebook, or X, and include this sentence in your caption:
I’m sharing my story so the realities of freedom of religion or belief in Nigeria can be heard during UN Special Rapporteur Nazila Ghanea’s visit. If you have a story too, share it with #MyFoRBStory, tag @FoRBsFuture, and see the link in @FoRBsFuture bio for details.
We will select speakers from among those who share their stories and notify them by Monday at 15:00 WAT.
2. Attend in Abuja
If you are able to be in Abuja on Tuesday and would like to attend the meeting in person, please fill out the interest form below.
We expect to have a large room and would like a strong showing from the FoRB’s Future community and friends.
3. Join by Zoom
If you are not in Abuja, you are still welcome to join virtually.
Members of the FoRB’s Future community both inside and outside Nigeria are invited to watch the meeting by Zoom. We will send the Zoom link on Monday.

4. Help Spread the Word
Even if you are not planning to speak or attend, you can still help.

Safety and Confidentiality
If you would like to share your FoRB story but have safety concerns, please do not post publicly.
Instead, send your story privately by DM to @forbsfuture.
If needed, you may submit your testimony in writing, and someone else can read it on your behalf.
